Wall Shelf CAVALLO

This small wall shelf keeps entryway clutter honest: three tiers in black steel and real wood veneer, doubling as a trinket shelf for keys, sunglasses, and the odds and ends worth looking at twice.

The floating wall shelf is built the way our workshop builds everything: a welded black steel frame carrying three fitted shelves of Baltic birch plywood finished in a real wood veneer, not a printed laminate. From across the room it reads as a small wall shelf; up close it reads as a considered piece of furniture, because the frame is doing visible structural work rather than hiding behind the wood.

Each tier is sized for what actually sits on a shelf like this: a small plant, a stack of two or three books, a dish for keys, a candle, the sunglasses you always lose. It is not a shoe bench and it is not rated to sit on — it is a display shelf and everyday-object organizer, and it is honest about that scope.

As an entryway organizer, the three tiers separate what you grab on the way out (keys, sunglasses, mail) from what you simply like looking at. In a living room, the same three tiers work as a narrow living room shelf for a plant, a framed photo, and a small stack of records, without competing for depth the way a full bookcase would.


Each veneer is bookmatched where the grain allows it, so no two shelves are quite the same piece of wood.
