Cavallo is our curved furniture line for the hallway: every wooden piece is bent from Baltic birch plywood into one continuous sweep instead of built from flat panels and corners. It is entryway furniture for a room that is usually shorter on depth than it is on width — a curved shoe rack low enough to slide under a console, a narrow metal shoe rack only 9 cm tall, a shoe bench built to be sat on, a wall coat rack just 15 cm deep, slim wall shelves and two plant stands that use height instead of floor space.

1. How they are made — materials & quality
Every wooden Cavallo piece is handmade in our workshop in Latvia (made in Europe) from Baltic birch plywood, bent — not carved or moulded — into its curve, then finished with a real wood veneer (koka finieris), never a printed laminate. The layered edge of the plywood stays visible alongside the grain of the veneer, which is why a Cavallo piece reads as furniture rather than storage. Metal parts are welded or powder-coated steel in matte black, sized to carry real weight without adding visual bulk.
- Bent, not boxed — the curved shoe rack and shoe bench are formed from layered birch plywood under pressure, a harder technique than building a flat panel, which is why the curve holds its shape for years.
- Load-tested where it matters — the Shoe Bench is rated to 50+ kg for sitting; the Narrow Wall Shelf and Wall Coat Rack carry up to 20 kg across their cubbies.
- Concealed fixings — the Wall Coat Rack, Wall Shoe Rack and both Wall Shelves mount on a French cleat or hidden keyhole bracket, so nothing shows on the front once it is hung.

2. Design, interiors, wood finishes & who they are for
Cavallo's single continuous curve is the ornament — there is no applied decoration, so each piece suits a mid-century modern, organic modern, Scandinavian or Japandi hallway equally well. Every design is built shallow on purpose: the curved shoe rack is 29.5 cm deep, the metal shoe rack 30 cm, the wall coat rack and narrow wall shelf just 15 cm — made for a hallway that is a route through the home, not a room in its own right.

- Oak — light, warm and timeless; keeps a narrow hallway feeling open.

Yes — the Wall Coat Rack, Wall Shoe Rack and both Wall Shelves ship with all fixings needed for a solid wall, mounted on a concealed French cleat or keyhole bracket.
How much weight can the Shoe Bench and Metal Shoe Rack hold?
The Shoe Bench is tested to 50+ kg for sitting. The Narrow Wall Shelf and Wall Coat Rack carry up to 20 kg across their cubbies; the curved and metal shoe racks are built for shoes (around 5 kg), not for standing on.
Do the Shoe Bench and Wall Coat Rack need assembly?
The Shoe Bench is flat-pack with hardware included. The Wall Coat Rack and Wall Shoe Rack need no assembly beyond mounting; the Shoe Rack Curved and Metal Shoe Rack arrive fully assembled.
How long does delivery take and where do you ship from?
We ship from our workshop in Latvia, in the EU. Delivery to the US typically takes about 7–14 business days; each piece is wrapped to protect the veneer and finish in transit.
